411 - Threat of School Violence

Making a threat of school violence, school shooting, or any activity or other threat that may create a disturbance in the educational environment.

  • Apply extended suspension and expulsion only to grades 6-12.

  • Level 5: If the school administrator decides to request an expulsion conference, the school administrator or designee must contact the Department of Student Services within two (2) days of the alleged offense to request an expulsion conference. Schools must conduct a threat assessment.

  • A mandatory re-entry conference must be held with the student, parent(s)/legal guardian(s), principal or designee, Director of Safety and Security or designee, and Director of Student Services or designee present.

  • Consideration would need to be made to the age, grade, developmental level, prior offenses, intentionality, and circumstances in determining an appropriate course of action and consequence.
